I have nothing but the fondest memories of my time under the care of Dr. Mantoudis. We first met about five years ago, and I felt an instant connection and a deep sense of trust. Whatever he suggested, I’d simply say, ‘Yes, let’s do it.’
I tried several times using my own eggs, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be. It was a time of such heartache and so many tears. But he was always by my side, as was Ms Pitsouni.
I remember telling him, ‘I want to use a donor egg and just be done with the struggle.’ He looked at me and said: ‘It isn’t just a “stranger’s” egg; it will be your baby.’ He truly helped me embrace the journey and made me feel, from the start, that this child would be mine.
When I finally saw that positive test, I was in total shock. Even during the scans, I would think to myself, ‘I can’t possibly be this lucky, it’s too good to be true…’
I carried that fear with me right up until 11th March 2025, when it was finally time to meet her. Everyone was there for me—Dr. Mantoudis, the medical team, and my lovely midwives, Evi Synodinou and Katerina. It was a difficult natural labour; the baby was high and I wasn’t dilating. Dr. Mantoudis kept encouraging me, saying, ‘We’ll do everything we can to have a natural birth.’ And it went exactly as he promised. I finally dilated, our little one arrived, and everything was perfect.
It was an overwhelming, life-changing experience. I want to thank the whole team; they were with me from the very first step. Thank you for the blessing you have given me—without you, I wouldn’t have my world.
