A dream!!!
That’s how I would describe what we are experiencing in the first days with our little one. I’m living a dream that Dr. Mantoudis helped come true. Three years full of trying and full of examinations – a short time for some, an eternity for me.
They told us, «Unexplained infertility » and the people around us advised not to stress and the pregnancy would come. But you can’t control your feelings. And Mr. Mantoudis unlocked me with his magical words, “You are young, it will definitely happen at some point, but you need to see how you feel and when you want it.” And so we started our journey into IVF, feeling more optimistic than ever.
And everything was like music, with Mr. Mantoudis playing the best role of the conductor, because he has chosen to have the most suitable people “play” with him. And I think that’s the key to the melody that accompanied us from the first visit until the moment we held our little one in our arms: our beloved coordinators – each one unique, the doctors who contributed to our little miracle, from the anesthesiologist, to all the gynecologists who monitored me and then my little one growing – all of them making us feel safe, but also with empathy for what the couple is going through.
I could never forget my unsung heroines: the best embryologists who were there both professionally and emotionally to bring together what nature was struggling with for us. And then for the most beautiful delivery I could never have imagined to be better, with my beloved Evi, the midwife who with trust, safety, respect, and scientific knowledge, offered us the delivery that every couple deserves, and our Katerina who guided us on the path of breastfeeding and saved me from anxiety and worry.
I will never forget the conductor of this orchestra: Mr. Mantoudis who helped us plant this small seed and has now given it to us in our arms as a blooming flower.
I feel so grateful and lucky that all these people – each in their own role – contributed to blossoming our family.
