Just a few days ago we became a family of four with 2 healthy little boys, while it was only 3-4 years ago when, in despair because of our failed IVF treatments, we were trying to trick ourselves into accepting the possibility of being alone- making plans to move to Santorini when we would retire and make our own wine. These dreams were so naïve. Let alone that we have no idea about vineyards, the scenario of buying land in Cyclades was totally unrealistic. But these thoughts helped us to keep up.
Until our endocrinologist, after 2 cycles of IVF with 4 unsuccessful embryo transfers that resulted in one biochemical pregnancy and a miscarriage, recommended Gennima and Mr. Mantoudis to us. The truth is that we experienced the failed treatments with great pain and not as just statistical depictions, so to try again involved a big risk for us. We were thinking whether to accept reality and move on or continue to hope. We lowered our expectations and visited Gennima maintaining our same tactic of following medical instructions faithfully. We were really impressed in our first appointment [at Gennima IVF] by the approach, the time they devoted to us and the absence of any attempt to present the situation like it was easy and simple.
Ours was a case of severe infertility and we faced many obstacles. During the stimulation, we had some difficulties and we had to decide whether to stop that cycle and try on the next one. Finally, in the first cycle and with only 2 embryo transfers we achieved 2 pregnancies. 0/4 became 2/2, and that alone was a small miracle for us. And it was a miracle because it resulted from a scientific approach that, apart from knowledge, took very seriously our own perspective of things, our history, our psychology.
Apart from the IVF procedure, the Gennima team was by our side during the pregnancies and deliveries, and always with calmness, seriousness and scientific knowledge informed us, reassured us in any concern and intervened quickly and reliably in any problem. For us, the team at Gennima are not just the serious professionals who helped us make our dream come true by focusing on our own uniqueness and not the dogmatic application of their protocols.
At our dinner table they will always be there as members of our family. An old credit card ad said: some things are priceless, for everything else there is the ….. card.
We think nothing is more priceless than the work you do.
Thank you very much.
