Dr Mantoudis,
I am writing to you these words as the smallest act of appreciation.
It is truly remarkable to have people like you and your team who do their best to achieve the impossible, to find ways and solutions and to help evolve technology and medicine to another level for the sake of some people’s happiness and if not always happiness, for the effort.
You are such a blessed person. For all of us who have tried, are trying, succeeded, failed, you are our dream, our hope, our happiness.
I belong to the group of happy twin moms, thanks to you and your wonderful team, my gratitude is beyond words, what I see before me every day is priceless and you gave it to me and I thank you with all the strength of my soul.
From the beginning I trusted you but mostly I trusted myself, I had made the decision not to stress, not to fear and not to question anything, I simply let myself with calmness, optimism, faith, strength and love in what was to come, I knew it was coming, I could feel it. All the girls at Gennima helped me, all of you encouraged me.
I know that none of this could be true and it could have been a failed treatment, but for this reason I thank God that I became a mother with your help.
Many women are suffering and fighting for what I have and I want to express my deep support, I can’t understand what it’s like, I just know it’s hard and these women are heroes for trying. I hope every woman trying for her baby will make it!
Many will put me in the easy category as I succeeded at my first try, but it is not easy in many ways, no one knows what you have done until you manage to make it in your one and only treatment, no one knows about medication, procedures, tests. I did everything it was needed to ensure the best chances of success as I only had one chance and I succeeded… I wish many women to succeed, I send my strength to all those who have not succeeded, to all women, to all mothers.
A mother is made, not born.
Motherhood is not just natural childbirth, nor just c-section.
Adoption makes you also a mother, donation makes you also a mother.
I have two wonderful little angels, last year around this time I would start my treatment, I was happy, I knew I was going to make something good; I had a good feeling, calmness and positive energy.
Dr. Mantoudis, God bless you! I wish you fulfill the dream of a baby to many women.
A big thank you to Dr. Elina Pitsouni who was always there for every question throughout my treatment.
“Thank you” to all the team at Gennima. Everyone was so important to me. I remember some names and sorry if I forget someone:
Chrysiida, Lena, Chara, Dora, Anthoula, Mr. Exarchopoulos
