
Christoforos Apostolidis
Christoforos Apostolidis is an Obstetrician - Reproductive Gynecologist.
He graduated from Athens Medical School in 1983.
In 1987 he specialized in Obstetrics - Gynecology. He worked for several years in many hospitals in Athens. Since 1991 he has specialized in infertility problems. In his last year of specialty, he worked at the In Vitro Fertilization Center of Alexandra Hospital under the supervision of Prof. Dim. Loutradis. In 1993 he completed his specialty having gained a remarkable experience in the whole range of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
From 1993 to 1995 he trained in the field of infertility and IVF in the UK at the Bourn Hall Clinic in Cambridge as a member of Peter Brensden’s team. The Bourn Hall Clinic is the first IVF Center that operated in the United Kingdom, under Professor Steptoe’s supervision. He also participates in the training program at the University Gynecology Clinic at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with Professor Steven Smith.
During this time, he gains experience in all areas of assisted reproduction by being responsible for many infertile couples’ IVF cycles from the first appointment to the end of treatment.
In 1996 he returned to Athens and treated infertile couples in parallel with the other fields of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He collaborates with the IVF Department of the Hera Maternity Hospital and then with Maternity Centers, Biomedicine and Diagnosis.
In 2007 he established IVF Gennima with Evripidis Mantoudis. This collaboration highlights the special knowledge and experience of both. The Gennima team with excellent embryologists and the assistance of the rest specialties becomes one of the best units in the field of infertility with very high success rates.
What makes Gennima differ is the high quality of medical care, the honest and clear communication and the personal contact with all the couples.
He is married to Sofia Kalomiri and has 3 children, Anna, Dimitris and Konstantina.
