We hear a lot about AMH, we test AMH levels, but what do we really know about AMH?<\/h4>\n

  1. AMH is a protein produced by the follicles and is an indicator of ovarian reserve.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Its level decreases as the woman grows older:<\/p>\n

    Younger age = More oocytes = Higher AMH level<\/p>\n

    Or else<\/p>\n

    Older age = Fewer oocytes = Lower AMH level<\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/p>\n

    2. A very high AMH value is a risk factor for PCOS.<\/p>\n

    3. Depending on the AMH level and the age of the woman, the fertility expert may recommend a treatment to preserve her fertility (oocyte cryopreservation).<\/p>\n

    4. The AMH level helps the fertility expert to tailor the treatment in case of assisted reproduction.<\/p>\n

    5. The average AMH level at the age of 30 is 5ng \/ mL, while at 40\u00a0 is 1ng \/ mL.<\/p>\n

    And<\/strong><\/p>\n

    6. Low AMH does not mean that a woman cannot get pregnant.<\/p>\n
