I visited Gennima for the first time after 1.5 years of trying to conceive. My first visit was for a simple HyFoSy. It was the first time I met Mr. Mantoudis.
After having a look at my tests and my ultrasound he immediately understood the main factor of our infertility, something we did not know until that day.
Low ovarian reserve and low AMH, and I was only 31 years old. Premature menopause, Reduced Ovarian Reserve or as otherwise referred to in bibliography.
I lost the ground under my feet! I could not believe it.
Nevertheless Mr. Mantoudis encouraged us to keep trying naturally but to keep IVF in our minds. I was very impressed by his experience and his approach! I didn’t have any recommendation about Gennima, so I turned to my ob/gyn to discuss the possibility of IVF. My gynecologist told me that he does not believe in AMH levels and that our infertility in my age is mainly due to psychological factors. So he recommended going to a small IVF clinic “with great success in natural cycles” where in my case the success would be definite, according to him. I had 1 cycle with stimulation and 2 natural cycles. I really had a poor response! We didn’t do embryo transfer as each time the doctor persistently chose to go ahead with blastocyst culture for these few embryos that emerged. I have never received a report or image from the embryology laboratory for the quality of the resulting embryos and basically we had no right to choose / discuss whether we wanted a 3rd day embryo transfer or blastocyst.
In the process we discovered that there was a male factor that needed treatment: DNA fragmentation. The solution he gave us was donor eggs.
We decided to leave this clinic and not put it down.
I visited Gennima for the second time and Mr. Mantoudis discussed with dedication the data that emerged from the previous 3 IVF treatments I had… But again I made the same mistake and did not continue with Gennima but went to another doctor after a recommendation. After 2 more failed IVFs with stimulation and the new doctor suggested we should choose donor eggs.
We were desperate, now trying 2.5 years after 5 IVF cycles, doctors who did not pay attention, medication .. We needed to feel safe and trust a doctor.
A relative suggested another large clinic. I made an appointment there for consultation, but I also booked for the third time an appointment in Gennima. This time, immediately after the appointment with Mr. Mantoudis, we told him that we would start a new cycle with him! My biggest mistake was that I didn’t stay at Gennima the first time. The whole team, without exception, is so supportive, understanding.
I felt safe for the first time in a long time!
We talked to him and he listened! Beyond this, Gennima is an extremely well-kept center, clearly invests in equipment, training, and staff that welcomes you with love! The embryology laboratory is in my opinion one of the best, for the know-how of the staff and of course for the experience of Mr. Mantoudis and his team! In every step we had excellent support and communication with the embryo laboratory and midwives. Everyone could answer my questions! It was the first time I saw such an organization!
You gave us hope and made us dream again!!
Thank you very much!!!
Only such scientists and people are needed on this difficult road!!
